Meet Our Doctors
George M. Hebeka, DDS
Dr. Hebeka was born and raised in the Detroit area. He attended Wayne State University on a four year, full academic scholarship and earned a bachelor degree in Biological Sciences in 1995. His interest in health care led him to pursue a career in dentistry. He attended the University of Michigan School of Dentistry in Ann Arbor, and in 2000, he was awarded his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree.
Following completion of dental school, Dr. Hebeka chose to continue his education in a General Practice Residency at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, Ohio. This was an intensive training program, which emphasized advanced training in General Dentistry, Oral Surgery, trauma care, Endodontics, Pedodontics, and the care of medically compromised patients. His training also included rotations in General Medicine and advanced courses in Pharmacology, Anesthesia, and the treatment of patients with dental anxiety. Dr. Hebeka is board certified to perform IV and oral sedation in the dental office setting.
In 2013, in an effort to continue to offer the best possible care to his patients, Dr. Hebeka continued his education with completion of the CIRP (Comprehensive Implant Residency Program) in Birmingham, Alabama. This was an intensive surgical program emphasizing dental implant placement, advanced bone grafting, and sinus lifts to facilitate implant placement.
Dr. Hebeka holds membership in the American Dental Association, the Ohio Dental Association, and the Toledo Dental Society. He also is a member of the Northwest Ohio chapter of the Seattle Study Club. Throughout the year, he attends numerous continuing education courses through these organizations, in order to keep current on the latest in patient care and procedures.
He currently resides in Perrysburg with his wife Julie, son Thomas, and twin girls Eliza and Anna. In his free time he enjoys working out, coaching kids sports, traveling, reading, and following pro and college sports.
Thomas “Ryan” Phipps, DDS
Ryan Phipps grew up in Bowling Green and is a proud graduate of Bowling Green High School. He received a bachelor’s degree from Miami University, a master’s degree in biology from Bowling Green State University, and a doctor of dental surgery from The Ohio State University. Following dental school, “Dr. Ryan” continued his education at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, Ohio, where he completed a general practice residency with a focus on advanced training in general dentistry, oral surgery, pediatric dentistry, and endodontics. His program also included rotations in medicine, anesthesia, and trauma care, as well as advanced courses in pharmacology and treatment of medically compromised patients. Dr. Ryan is certified in intravenous sedation and advanced cardiac life support.
Dr. Ryan is currently a member of the ADA, ODA, TDS, and the Northwest Ohio Chapter of the Seattle Study Club. He is also an active member of the Bowling Green Rotary Club and the pre-professional advisor for BGSU pre-dental students.
Dr. Ryan returned to his hometown in 2012 with his wife, Rachel. He enjoys working in the community that he’s known since childhood. When he is not practicing dentistry, he is busy with his two young children—a daughter, Georgia, and a son, Arnold. He also enjoys playing golf, working out at the BGSU Rec Center, cooking meals for family and friends, cycling on the many bike paths in NW Ohio, and running with his golden retriever, Bernie.
Jenna Shevlin, DDS
Dr. Jenna Shevlin is originally from Northeastern Ohio and received her Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from Denison University in Granville, Ohio. Dr. Shevlin graduated dental school from The Ohio State University in 2011. Afterward, she attended a general practice residency at Miami Valley Hospital, where she completed rotations in internal medicine, anesthesia, and trauma care as well as advanced courses in pharmacology and the treatment of medically compromised patients.
While at Miami Valley, she received certification in intravenous conscious sedation and Advanced Cardiac Life Support. A lifelong learner, Dr. Shevlin enjoys all aspects of dentistry and has earned additional training in pediatrics, invisalign, and oral surgery.
When Dr. Shevlin isn’t working she likes spending time with her family including two young children Keigan, and Sawyer. She likes walking with her two big German Shepherds, and loves crafting.
